Sometimes holding incriminating information on your opponents is more valuable than releasing it. I've often thought this is the way a politicized FBI or CIA would control Presidents and House & Senate members.

Leverage is a powerful weapon in DC.

I agree. They made releasing those file a big campaign promise, and then all of a sudden, it got pulled back.

There’s only one explanation - there’s something in there that’s not good news for the Republicans and/or Trump.

Of course, given that the Rats didn’t release it when they were in power, most likely also means that it has bad news for them as well.
