The FBI was called Sunday after a loaded gun magazine was found on a Frontier Airlines plane at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta.
Just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday, officers assigned to the airport responded to a call about a gun magazine found near Frontier Airlines Gate C-6 in Concourse C, according to a news release from the Atlanta Police Department (APD).
A passenger on the Airbus A320 aircraft discovered what appeared to be a loaded magazine containing ten hollow point rounds near seat 7A, according to the release.
Police said the magazine, marked with the initials "K H," was found during boarding for a turnaround return flight to Cincinnati.

TSA checked 904 million passengers in 2024.
They found 6,678 undeclared firearms.
When you have large numbers of people doing things, unusual stuff is bound to happen. No one is perfect. People are fallible.
A loaded magazine which slipped out of a pocket or was set aside for a valid reason, then forgotten because of interruption, emergency, distraction, or happenstance is going to happen now and then. It is not a big deal.
Perfection is impossible.
HK would make sense.

I had a combo range bag / carry on bag once upon a time - before 9/11.
I bought a dedicated carry on backpack shortly thereafter.
Croatan etched into the magazine would have been properly mysterious.
“A passenger on the Airbus A320 aircraft discovered what appeared to be a loaded magazine containing ten hollow point rounds near seat 7A, according to the release.”
The rounds had holy bullets. :)
For those not reading the article ...
“A subsequent investigation confirmed that the ammunition belonged to a law enforcement officer who was on an earlier flight on the same aircraft. The ammunition and magazine were taken into the custody of the Atlanta Police Department, and the property owner was referred to Atlanta P.D. to retrieve his items.”
Or “Kill Hitler”....which was my first thought.
An acquaintance was able to get through TSA a couple years ago with a magazine containing live rounds and it was only found on her return flight from NYC. Luckily for her they chose to just confiscate it.
I have traveled several times now with a small utility knife on my key chain in a carry on bag. Even travelled to Israel with it earlier this year. I was first surprised it wasn’t confiscated, now I don’t really think about it and expect it will get through.
How can a loaded mag make it through TSA unless it was intentionally planted, just saying.
>OMG
I’m surprised that magazine loaded with deadly hollow points didn’t go berserk & start killing people, you know how violent guns are, Fox.
Give it a rest.
Fox is a lunatic asylum these days. What sad times are these!

Some LEOs other than air marshals can carry loaded firearms on planes. I know federal agents generally can but not sure about state and local. They do have to let the pilot know and he has to ok it but it is allowed.
Dropped by a LEO air marshal.
LOL
