People in management, particularly in executive management, need to understand that there is no such thing as "a business" or "a company" or "a corporation".

There is only "THIS business". "THIS company". "THIS corporation."

Executives who fail to understand what THIS Business does, what makes it unique, how it works, will inevitably destroy THIS Business.

MBA programs appear to produce a plague of educated idiots.

23andMe should be a case study… founder with background in ~core of business, essentially controlled board with voting shares, SV darling to $6B cap, slow, steady demise to bankruptcy in 4 yrs.
