Authorities said Camacho was wearing a motorcycle helmet and two tactical vests with ballistic plates.

Obvious case of paranoia, psychotic or schizophrenic. The country has to come to terms with institutionalizing these people.

Wearing two vest with plates is going to severely hinder your mobility. But he didn't have anywhere to run, and no room to fight.

At least wearing the helmet would have restricted the spray of gore in the room.

This police dept and officer will never hear the end of this now.

I once lived in a town where something similar happened nearly forty years ago — a mentally disturbed family member was threatening family and then police officers with a knife - the usual happened, much like this case.

There are people to this day in that town that blame and besmirch the officer and the police department for ‘murdering’ that deranged person.

The poor family. Mario Camacho, 27, goes insane, cuts his younger sister and shot dead while threatening his 7 year old brother with a knife. The younger kids have a lifetime of trauma ahead of them.
