IIRC, some airports try to scare birds away (dogs?)

Trained hawks work good.

I have seen a few military airfields that had falcons. They also had loud audio of various birds of prey with a speaker mounted on their car. They even used shotguns to get rid of some pests.

There were a lot of different techniques used for managing wildlife. Eliminating habitats near the airfield, planting vegetation that birds don’t like, get rid of vegetation they do like.

This was actually pretty interesting. The BASH program guys had a building near our office at my first base (nearly 40 years ago), but I never really knew what they did other than play with their falcons and drive their little van (European sized) making loud annoying bird sounds.
