Yeah. That is insanity, IMO.
In my area, you get behind a bus, and they stop every 100 feet.
“Oh, they have to do it for safety because there are no sidewalks...” they piously say.
What a load of horse crap.
I’ve seen kids waiting for the bus less than a quarter mile from the school (WITH sidewalks along the entire distance). I also see cars (usually with engines idling) lined up for hundreds of yards to drop off or pick up the little darlings.
When I was a kid, walking to or from school was one of the best parts of the day, especially walking home. I had a whole variety of routes, depending on which shortcuts I’d choose, and there was always something to see or some kind of mischief to get into.
