A Palestinian mother living in Canada has blasted 'white people' for erecting Halloween decorations of dismembered limbs she says reminded relatives of the horrors of Gaza.
Samar Alkhdour, 40, arrived in Quebec as an asylum seeker in 2019. Her sister, who has two young children, relocated from Gaza earlier this year.
Alkhdour, a self-proclaimed human rights activist, is very vocal on social media about Palestinian causes. Her 13-year-old daughter died in Palestine and much of her family remains there today.
In a recent post, the activist launched a profane rant in which she criticized her neighbors for displaying gory Halloween decor outside their Montreal home.
'I just want to ask, is this ok? Is this how holidays look like?' she asked as she panned the camera over a hanging display of severed plastic body parts.
'This is just across the street from my sister's [house]. Is this f***ing ok? What's the fun about it? What is civilized about it? What is holiday about it?
'**** you all.**** you, white people. **** you, westerners... I don't know what to say, like, ****everyone.'
Her post, which was met with heavy criticism online, highlighted how her family spent eight months witnessing 'genocide' and, after managing to flee Gaza, spent an entire year in Egypt as they sought asylum in Canada.

Would she rather be back in gaza where they are not displays but actual real life horrors?
There is a house in a nearby subdivision that’s had Halloween decorations out since mid-September. They’ll probably take them down after Thanksgiving.
I’m reprising Colonel Sanders this year. I have the white suit and my goatee is shaping up. Two years ago, I stopped at the local KFC, and the cashier freaked out lol.
Neighbors who are celebrating Diwali had no clue who I was, despite me carrying a KFC bucket with candy for the kids. You can’t convince me the majority of H-1Bers are trying to assimilate, because they aren’t.
While that twat would welcome the same against Christians in the west.
She can go f herself back to Gaza
That's the problem right there.
Actually Halloween is the devil’s night so all those demonic creepy decorations are appropriate. They’re supposed to scare. It’s the night for cute Damien Thorns to come out.
The next day is All Saints Day.
The following day is All Souls Day.
What do we do on those two days?
Yes. Well said. 'White' is a political term. Or, we might say, it's a description - not a culture. To take it further: It shouldn't be capitalized as a proper noun.
Not everyone who celebrates Halloween is 'white.' And not all 'white' people celebrate Halloween. We knew many Christians who believed it was satanic. Their children did not trick-or-treat. Even among people who celebrate Halloween, most people don't decorate with gory displays.
She's using the term 'white' for Western culture. But people in Palestine celebrated the actual murder of innocents. It's tragic that her young daughter was killed in the bombings. I wonder what she thinks of the October massacre of Jews.
I know your question is rhetorical. But, in case someone out there doesn’t know... We went to church on November 1. But, on the Eve of All Saints Day - Halloween - we trick-or-treated. In the early 1970s, my Catholic school gave us boxes to collect for the “pagan babies,” and people would drop coins in our boxes and a treat in our bag.
Iwas born here as a lifelong citizen & there are some things I see being done that I would prefer a change to. However, most of the the time I can do little or nothing about it. One of those things is certain of the more hideous Halloween decorations, but they are legal even if I don’t approve of them, so I leave them alone.
You sound polite and well-mannered, 3rdRuff.
Congratulations to you, and to your parents for a job well done.
Regarding your “tag”, here’s something I heard somewhat recently and found interesting: before the color we know as orange came to be called “orange”, that color was understood as merely another shade of brown.
not quite rhetorical.
We are more focused on the first day and tend to ignore the following two. Not everyone acknowledges Saints, but everyone knows a departed soul.
Halloween is a needed day/night. Unfortunately, like Christmas, it has become commercialized and has lost it’s initial meaning.
Good points. I agree.
That’s the point I made when Black Lives Matter took the wrong side in the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Because Israel has accepted black Jews from Ethiopia and South Africa over the past 40 years, some of today’s Israelis are black.
However, the Palestinians are all white.
And guess who the young followers of BLM are backing?
“Indirectly, she’s correct.”
Still though it’s our weird ass holiday and if she does not like it that is her problem.
I am as certain of my own existence as I am of God, the sacrifice of Jesus The Christ, and the reason for that sacrifice.
That being said, a couple of (likely unpopular points):
If you bring your children up in the way they should go, you should have no fear of candy or decorations on Halloween.
Satan’s “storehouse” isn’t full of fake or real amputated limbs and decapitated heads. Rather, it is littered with signs with slogans such as, “My Body My Choice”, “We’re Here and We’re Queer”, and, “That’s Not MY Truth”.
Don’t claim “faith” if you don’t actually have Faith.
Faith is something that you live, not wear like a badge.
