RAND PAUL: It's a threat to our economy and our dollar... I’ll keep voting NO until Washington gets serious about balancing the budget
X / Fox News ^ | Oct 23 | Rand Paul

@RandPaul

Like I told @cherylcasone on @MorningsMaria, Republicans ran against Biden’s reckless spending… then adopted his spending levels. I won’t. $38 trillion in debt isn’t sustainable. It’s a threat to our economy and our dollar. I’ll keep voting no until Washington gets serious about balancing the budget.

“He knows exactly the intent of the RATS...”

I don’t think he is being up front then. The RATS are doing this to get the political scams they had set up that were taken away from them by Trump and trying to blackmail the conservatives into doing it. The libs are not interested in balancing the budget, they want their power back with their ownership of the little guys they have succeeded in getting across the border. So if Paul is only interested in balancing the budget to get his knickers out of the sewer, then he’s voting for the wrong reason, a personal one and not for the people he’s sworn to protect.

"I don’t think he is being up front then."

He doesn't have to be up front. He's been in the Senate for 14 years. He's learned the ropes and the games to play. He voted with the RATS on several issues like the Big, Beautiful Bill, attempts to limit President Trump's authority to set tariffs, and the current government funding Bill as well as others. He also co-sponsors Bills with them. The latest Bill in September, he colluded with RAT Alex Padilla, who was the idiot that tried to interrupt Secretary Noem's press conference in June, and was forcibly removed. The Bill they co-sponsored was to protect DACA illegals from having to self-deport once they turn 21.

I find it surprising that he actually co-sponsored a Bill with Padilla, especially after Padilla was out of control during her press conference, trying to run up to her when she was standing at the lectern speaking...that he would work with someone like that, especially after he was attacked himself by his neighbor, and after he and his wife were harassed and accosted by BLM on the streets of Washington in 2020, after leaving the Republican National Convention. He spent weeks appearing on news programs crying about how he felt his life was threatened by BLM, and believed he was going to die. Yet he decided to partner with a retardk, who exhibits bad behavior. Sounds like he'll partner with any RAT, no matter how they behave, or what stupid thing they've done.

Rand Paul wants illegals to be able to stay here if they haven't committed a crime since they've been here, but he doesn't bother to mention that they committed a crime to come here.

His current term ends in 2029, which means he may be running for President in 2028. He crashed and burned in 2016. Dropped out in the beginning of that year. I don't see him getting very far in 2028 if he decides to run.

“He doesn’t have to be up front.”

If he wants to remain a leader in the conservative party, he does.

He's not a Conservative. He's a Libertarian.

“He’s not a Conservative. He’s a Libertarian.”

Libertarianism is a political philosophy that prioritizes individual liberty, freedom, and personal sovereignty, believing that individuals should be free to live as they choose as long as they respect the equal rights of others. This is often supported by a belief in limited government, free-market capitalism, and the idea that voluntary cooperation is the ideal form of interaction. On his web site he lists himself as a social conservative and a member of the republican party.

All of this, from my past understanding, is part of the basis for conservatism. He speaks out about conservative policies because they match his ideology of government but by doing so infiltrates into the conservative agenda and blurs the issues just like liberals try to do while trying to sell the appearance of a conservative supporting to the party. He’s a user.

"All of this, from my past understanding, is part of the basis for conservatism."

Well, it's bull$hit, because Conservatives don't believe in open borders, protecting DACA illegals from having to self-deport at the age of 21, (a Bill Rand Paul co-sponsored with RAT Felix Padilla in September,) also allowing illegals who already broke the law to come here, to remain if they haven't committed a crime since they've been here. He voted against President Trump's Big, Beautiful Bill this year which included border security funds. Those are the things Rand Paul supports, and more, like wanting to take away President's Trump power to determine tariffs. If he's a Conservative, why is he voting with the RATS lock-step to keep the government closed? He's a Grandstander, nothing more.

“He’s a Grandstander, nothing more.”

My point about the comparison of libertarian versus conservatism is that they are much alike. But the problem with Paul is he follows neither philosophy. You called him a grandstander in your last sentence. I called him a user. About the same except the user takes advantage while the grandstander allows others an opinion to make his point. He just uses whoever is in his best interest to prosper. And that’s the mistake of the conservatives. They should set a standard and expectation of conservative supporters and kull them out as they fail it. But they don’t have the pelotas. You either are loyal to your commitment to your citizens or you are also a lying failure. And if it comes to a war between the parties, and if you are right, bring it on.

Thanks for your analysis. You make very good points about him. I call him a Grandstander, because he picks a topic to harp on, and gets in front of the TV cameras and says: “Hey...look at me!!! Look at me!! He’s the Chuck Schumer of the Republican Party, tripping over his feet to get in front of a camera.

The only one worse than Schumer is Newsome. Paul reminds me of him. One way to look at it is to remember Paul is the junior senator. His senior is Mitch McConnell. That should say something about both.

When McConnell croaks, that makes Rand Paul senior Senator from Kentucky.
