Army of Cops Appears on 71 Year Old Man's Lawn to "Talk"

On a sunny day in St. Cloud, Florida, police officers gathered, like storm clouds, around an upscale residential neighborhood. They were heavily armed, quick response teams waiting around every corner; helicopter on overwatch. K9 at the ready. They were prepared for anything. Everyone involved had been briefed on the operation. It was go-time. They converged on their suspect with clock-like precision. But why were they there? They were about to foil a terrorism plot? Armed and dangerous fugitive? Escaped serial killer? Or was it an innocent guy in his home who wasn’t under arrest, and they just had some questions for him about a bar fight earlier in the day? I never thought about K9 rights before, but I know if that man had attacked the police dog, he could be charged assault. Could the police dog or officer holding it be charger with assault?

It’s Florida. Homeowner might be armed, hence the backup.

It's the US: any homeowner might be armed.

If they're that scared, they need to find another line of work.

If they take a couple of drunk guys' complaints seriously without further investigation (one of whom was actually threatened by the cop, "You need to answer my question," into filing a complaint), then a number of officers need to be fired.

No one was actually harmed here, except by the police.

If a prosecutor wants to bring the case, yes. As a practical matter, cops aren't prosecuted for excessive force or assault. So, the only deterrent is a civil rights case, but the municipalities insurance may cover that cost, or at least pay the attorney's fees which can be quite substantial.

This reads like one of those AI generated things like “Barron Trump confronts the professor”, or “the veterinarian gasped when he opened the box and saw what my son found in the backyard”

“I think sometimes cops just break out all their gear because they want to use it.”

It can be viewed as “practice” for when that level of response is really needed.

In an age of robotics, there should be a robot that can go to the door and ask the occupant to come out with hands up , robot needn’t be armed. Also for traffic stops. Plenty of these encounters end up with dead cops. Could even be Joe Biden inside with a shot gun blast through the door.

I am, very reluctantly, starting to think that the police have too much money and too much time on their hands.

My local police response is one of two types: 1) no response; 2) Every on-duty car with lights and sirens.

There is no in between.

Where are the jackboot lickers? 49 posts and not one defending the Police or praising their actions as they bravely mauled and injured a unresisting victim. That they did not murder him by shooting him full of holes was by the Grace of God and because they did not think of it. They were having to much fun torturing him and letting the dog bite him to think of shooting him at that time. This is what modern Policing has degenerated to. I can remember when the Police treated people like human beings. Even when arresting them. And the Law and Order Crowd, A/K/A, Jackboot Lickers, love it. Until it happens to one of them. Then it is not so funny.

Yup... that’s typical for my area of Houston, too.

Mr. In between knows exactly how to handle this type of situation.

For anyone who hasn't watched Mr In Between, I highly encourage it.
