There are alternatives to Cracker Barrel, Target, Anheuser Busch, and Gillette. These firms are in competitive environments. The NFL, the other major sports leagues, NCAA, and NASCAR have virtual monopolies. Until people turn off the TV, radio, or streaming services to the sports industry, the owners will not learn.
