The $100,000 fee is a one-time fee, not a yearly tax, and applies to employers filing for new H-1B petitions on or after September 21, 2025. This fee does not apply to existing H-1B visa holders or to the renewal or extension of current visas.

Well they ought to close that loophole. Make it apply to renewals too. And raise it from 100k to 250k because these people have unique skills right? Since they are so in-demand 250k should be nothing.
