Memphis, Mississippi
History: Was a small village in DeSoto County, Mississippi.
Current Status: In 2004, it officially became part of the town of Walls, Mississippi.
Size: Its population was 87 at the 2000 census.

I can see why red states get the larger murder rate per capital. Nobody lives here and yet one murder brings up the percentage big time.

That and a lot of southern red states have a higher percentage of blacks than a lot of blue states. IIRC that wasn’t a problem for the first century after abolition, during an era that blacks lived more godly lives than whites in other ways like raising kids in marriage (higher percentage of blacks being raised by both parents than whites being raised by both parents, according to Thomas Sowell). Sowell blames the culture change on the welfare state, and he may be correct. I blame it more on the sexual revolution.

How is that? They don’t border...Walls is past Horn Lake where I graduated from. I lived in Walls (Twin Lakes) during high school.
