Read the amendment closely. He’s eligible because he hasn’t yet served two consecutive terms.
What are you trying to say? The amendment doesn’t say anything about consecutive terms.
You can't, because it doesn't.
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.
The authors were very clear, and very explicit .. Donald J. Trump is absolutely 100% INELIGIBLE to be elected President again.
If you don't like that, petition Congress ... and the States ... to repeal Amendment 22.
The End.
There is no exemption based on nonconsecutive terms in the text. What are you on about?
Read it again.
“No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice”
Where does the word “consecutive” appear in the Amendment??
It says “twice”, which Trump has achieved. As much as I love Trump, I would not want him serving another 4 years. He’ll be too old, and frankly, I have noticed that the job is beginning to wear him down. Regardless, the R’s have a pretty good bench:
Vance
Desantis
Cruz
Rubio
and some possible sleepers
Read the amendment in English. Nothing says “consecutive.”
He has been elected twice. He is done.
