So regardless of my opinions regarding Islam in general, I will speak well of this officer, and may he Rest In Peace, per the famous words of Winston Churchill:
"Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, but..."Clearly this good man was one of those individuals. I offer prayers for his 8-months pregnant wife and two young sons, who have lost a father and husband.
And the officer’s own parents lost their only son according to a newscast I just watched.
When I visit NYC, some of my favorite conversations are with cab drivers. They come from countries all over and I can feel God tugging at my heart to veer the conversation in a spiritual direction when possible. Even if it’s not meant to get TOO deep, it’s always a blessing to hear people’s stories, and where they stand with regard to faith — and to plant a seed if given the moment.
