>>>Reports of the shooting at 345 Park Avenue started coming in at around 6:28 p.m.
The shooter, Shane Tamura, 27, was seen on surveillance footage getting out of a double parked black BMW between 51st and 52nd Street, with an M4 rifle.
He then walks towards the skyscraper, enters the lobby and turns right, where he shot police officer Didarul Islam, 36, dead.<<<
I’m not trying to be hateful, but how was he protecting New Yorker’s exactly? He got gunned down like every other victim but is being hailed as a hero, just because he happens to be a cop. Who was off duty btw. I just don’t appreciate the 4 other victims being treated like they don’t matter.
Unless the story somehow changes which is possible, he is just another unfortunate victim.
This right to keep and bear arms is denied to regular New York City citizens, and that denial of rights is enforced by officers of the New York City police department.
The shooter knew he'd face few armed civilians in New York City... and so did the off-duty cop.
I don’t get it either, it seems to be based on ‘immigrant’, ‘Muslim’, and he is an ‘immigrant Muslim cop’.
It enables them to write stories like this about his Mosque and his Muslim immigrant struggles.
“At Slain Officer’s Home, His Bangladeshi Community Mourns Into the Night
Didarul Islam had a hard-won house, a job that brought respect and the esteem of his neighbors. “He said serve the community and you’ll do fine,” a friend said.”

Tamura guns down a woman cowering behind a pillar in the lobby as he sprays more bullets and walks toward the elevator bank — where he shoots dead a security guard crouching at his desk.”
