Can anyone explain how the new gun safe storage act is legal.
It lists classes of people that are a danger, AND Minors shall not have access to firearms. The law looks to simply list minors in general. As in All Minors.

My sons have had FOID cards, hunter safety classes, and hunting licenses since they were young.

So now, they are allowed to be in possession of a firearm when hunting.
Hell, I got scolded by a DNR agent who climbed up into our tree stand and asked for my 12 year old son's FOID card. I said he was directly under my supervision. The game warden said he should have one.
When we are at the Deer Camp, their guns are besides their beds, or in a camper, or in a case next to them at 5:00 am when headed out hunting.
Does this new law mean you have to keep firearms locked in a safe when in your car, in a camper, or in a tree stand or hunting blind.

FYI, the new Illinois safe Gus storage act
States …. to securely store firearms when minors, at risk…bla bla bla, or at risk person…
$1,000 fines…

It looks to list minors separately from other classifications.
As in all minors.
