@RandPaul
Throughout the Vote-a-rama, I was working all night to stop Congress from adding to our debt.
I met with @VP and I reiterated my offer to vote for the bill—if it included a 90% reduction in the debt ceiling.
No earmarks. No handouts. Just real fiscal reform.
I wasn’t looking for favors. I wasn’t horse-trading. I was fighting for the American people and against our out-of-control debt.
Bottom line: I offered my vote for fiscal sanity. Congress chose to sell out taxpayers instead. Only once the bill is released, we will know what the true price was.

Huh ... Am I even in the right century?
I’m starting to think it could be a post-Civil War thing.
“Throughout the Vote-a-rama, I was working all night to stop Congress from adding to our debt.”
Steve Miran: We anticipate $8.3 trillion more in revenues than the CBO has scored.
Hint #2. You’re in the right century. LOL.
Hint #3. It’s one of my very first political awakenings / memories. (yeah, useless hint, I know).
I dont want to bombard this page with every single tweet he wrote but he clarifies everything about the illegals no longer getting medicaid
“If Trump doesn’t pivot to addressing the deficit, and fast, Rand will be the last one laughing. And not in the distant future.”
And you believe e CBO! ROTFLMAO !
They were off Trump’s first term budget by trillions.
The were off on the IRA by trillions. Always favoring the democrats.
My offer to vote for the bill—if it included a 90% reduction in the debt ceiling.
He may want to call in an auditor to make a count of how much the Congress and Senate spent on fruitless spending first.
Rand is right. I think Trump is a realist though. He can only do what he can do in the sludge of the swamp.
Rand, go (blank) yourself.
I am DONE with you. I will be donating to ANY primary challenger you get.
You are a NUT! Just like dad.
One note Samba. The DEBT! The sky is falling! 50 years later, The DEBT! The sky is falling!
Just wipe the debt and be done with it. Or print enough money to pay it off. Either way, clean slate, start over.
I thought that I had an idea as to who Congressman ABC was, but then realized that it was a LONG time ago when the debt was $285 billion... so, no clue...
OK, so what ... 1950s?
Was it John F. Kennedy?
Even if it wasn’t ... the 21st Century democRAT Party would excommunicate JFK for not being a communist and a sodomite.
RAND COULD GET ALOT OF SAVINGS IF HE PUT AS MUCH EFFORT FORWARD TO GET RID OF ILLEGALS.
RAND COULD GET ALOT OF SAVINGS IF HE PUT AS MUCH EFFORT FORWARD TO GET RID OF ILLEGALS.
One doesn’t have to place the least faith in the CBO to believe the nation is headed for a Weimar-style fiscal crisis.
Yes thats it thank U
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Feb. 11, 1959That's SIXTY SIX years ago. I remember throughout the Sixties all the hand wringing and angst about the $100 billion deficits and the national debt."THE NATIONAL DEBT SHOULD BE PAID"
Interesting. Thanks!
Inflation (devaluation of the US Dollar) has reduced the purchasing power of the US Dollar by an order of magnitude in the last 60 years.
Did the Fort Worth Star-Telegram name a specific “Congressman ABC”? Who or what was “XXX”?
Sorry, I forgot that. It was Congressman Wright of TX.
James Claude Wright Jr. (December 22, 1922 – May 6, 2015) was an American politician who served as the 48th speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1987 to 1989. He represented Texas’ 12th congressional district as a Democrat from 1955 to 1989.
A SANE Democrat back in the day.
Jim Wright, eh? I remember him from the 1980s as a corrupt POS and opponent of President Reagan. He was “sane” only in comparison to the abject freak-show that is today’s democRAT Party. Perhaps also more sane in the ‘60s than in the ‘80s.
The House Ethics Committee, prompted by Common Cause and Rep. Newt Gingrich, investigated in 1988 and found Wright likely violated House rules in 69 instances. Facing a formal hearing and loss of party support, Wright resigned as Speaker on May 31, 1989, and from Congress on June 30, 1989, becoming the first Speaker to resign due to ethical allegations.
Those scandals were child’s play and downright cute compared to what Obama engineered — the complete weaponization of the federal government against your opposition.
