I developed an appreciation for the intelligence of animals and their ability to interact with us when my Mother-in-Law got a budgie, George, after her dogs both died. MIL had to take medicine at 10:00 p.m. every night and she stored her bottles on top of her rarely-used toaster oven. If MIL failed to take her meds by 10:00 p.m., George would refuse to get into his cage and would stand on the toaster oven and squawk until MIL investigated the noise and took her meds. Then he’d quietly enter his bird cage and sleep peacefully for the night. George died before she did and she was so heartbroken that she took him to the vet to dispose of his remains respectfully. That’s when she found out George was a female.
I’ve seen dozens of stories of wild animals interacting with humans in times of desperation - one posted just a few days ago here (leopard or a cheetah?). I’ve come to understand that they’re much more sentient and intelligent than I realized as a youth.

my thoughts: I believe Trump and the DOJ/FBI high-ups are playing chess. If the call for the list continues, the Dems will join in. Their part in the play will bring the evidence forward. I posted the link to the mama leopard who brought her injured cub to a man. Animals have very strong feelings.
When I had cats, I had to put them in the cat barn at night (many predators around here). They were offspring of ferals dropped off in the neighborhood, and Hub would not allow them in our house overnight. So we made a nice cat barn with cubby holes with hay, a water dish, food, and access to a dirt box.
Every evening before putting them in for the night, I’d sit with them outside, play my guitar and sing. At the right time, they would gather around, get comfy, and listen. One cat (my fave) would get on the bench next to me and try to play my guitar.
