A friend died in his back yard of burst artery in his stomach. He was quite fit. They estimate he bled to death internally within a couple minutes.

No one had any idea he had an aneurysm in this major artery.

Same thing almost happened to me. I had a CAT scan for kidney stones, and they discovered an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. My urologist called me and said go the emergency room NOW!

Thankfully, a well regarded vascular surgeon was the father of one of my son’s high school teammates on the football team and we had become close friends. He put in a stent, and I have had no problems since. He literally saved my life.

Apparently, almost all AAAs are detected while they are looking for something else, as was my case. If it’s not detected like that, it’s pretty much a death sentence.
