AI is going to be totally fun.
Useful?
Maybe not so much….
So, I asked “Grok, is AI useful or a flash in the pan?”
Grok assured me “AI is useful and here to stay. It’s already transforming industries—healthcare diagnostics, logistics, content creation, and more—by automating tasks, uncovering insights from data, and enabling new capabilities. For example, AI models like AlphaFold solved protein folding, a decades-old biological puzzle, in months. It’s not perfect; there’s hype, and some applications are gimmicky or overblown. But the core ability to process vast information and optimize systems is a fundamental leap, not a fad. It’s like electricity or the internet—flaws and all, it’s reshaping how we work and think.”
So there!! AI says AI is useful.
It’s a shame AI can’t make interactive phone systems useful. I now have to listen to 3 to 5 minutes of CRAP I don’t want to hear and there’s no way to stop it. I love it when the bank phone system tells me for the 10,000th time “I can do things like tell you your balance.” Aaaiiiggghhhh!!!!
