That kind of thing was typical in cartoons back then.
We didn’t seem to have to worry that kids would take the violence literally, like a lot of them seem to do today.
Apparently those were made in the late 1950s when Wilkins coffee was a market leader. According to Wiki the brand is now defunct seeming to have disappeared around 1997. While I drink coffee daily now for most of my life I didn’t and had never heard of Wilkins until this thread.
