They’re nearly unrecognizable to most people when their fur is gone.
It walks the walk.
A skinned bear looks like a human. At least to my pair of eyes when I was probably first or second grade. My friend at the next-door-summer-cabin and I sneaked into the cellar below their cabin. There in the light of one weak bare lamp bulb was a skinned bear hanging from the floor joist.
We had so many questions wondering why there was a “dead guy” hanging there. Until some adult heard us whispering and secretive and asked us what was going on.
I don’t recall if my friend knew it from the beginning and just playing a joke on me or not.
