History on 🔥🔥🔥! Nottoway Plantation in White Castle, Louisiana is currently burning out of control. There are no signs of Yankees anywhere so the cause of the fire is still undetermined! 👀

It’s them again, Yogi.
Sadly.
There were many threads on Facebook about this. I saw one guy post that that big beautiful plantation in Washington DC is next. Giving people ideas. I’m betting it was arson.
“””I’ve toured River Road Plantations in Louisiana.
I hate to see this one go.”””
Ditto here. Nottoway was probably the finest of southern plantations.
Is there any word as to what sprinkler system was on the premises?
Idiots.
I have toured the River Road plantations also, and have been through this one. This is truly sad.
Thanks! I have that CD (uh, somewhere) and had completely forgotten this track.
“”I have toured the River Road plantations also, and have been through this one. This is truly sad.””
Same here. I recall two lovely ladies offering a mint julep on that particular tour at Nottoway. Another part of history that cannot be replaced, now destroyed.
Very sad.
A tragic loss!
Glad I was able to spend some quality time there!
Oh how terrible! What a shame.
They will burn everything “white”
Trust me
Enough power the White House goes if they can get to it
Slave built in part
I’m not sure it was arson
2pm is an odd time for that
The new term Enslaved People is like Gay Marriage
A watershed
John…..
🤔
Ask em who rounded them up and sold them to slavers.
I dare ya.
😆
👊
Yes? Can’t comment, except to say that the external buildings of the “Nottaway Resort” were not harmed. Only the historical building (with 169 rooms). On the National Register of Historic Places. Sure there will be an arson investigation for insurance. There has to also be video surveillance inside the original home, and that updated to internet, so they should check if the power went out just before so the digital video could not be stored or uploaded.
No sprinkler system?- cause the power was off as well. Possible.
About as far as can go. Some here may be looking into the New Orleans lawyer who owns the place, like scene out of “Pelican”. To destroy a historical place thus removes any possibility of learning the true history, so they can rewrite their own and put it all on “colonialism” and not the fact that there was no real industrial replacement for human labor of any kind until way after the 1860’s.
Yours is a tragedy too, Salamander. Been there, and it took years to get a place up to “code”.
