As much as coffeeholic sounds nice, it may never be that nice really. Did you believe that? Maybe not!
Coffeeholic is a simple term to express a lover of coffee or as most dictionaries have it, it’s being a coffee addict. As much as we have workaholic and shopaholic to be friendlier than their opposite, so also is being coffeeholic. By being a coffeeholic, it means you have no other alternative to coffee.
As a coffeeholic, know your coffees

You can use any type of espresso, you don’t need an espresso machine.
I agree and caffeine doesn’t give any legitimate energy...if it does it lasts for a very short time. It’s bad energy at that IMO.
Black Silk is dark roast with a finer grind than typical Folgers. It is meant to cut into the popularity of the typical strong Starbucks. Ideal for at home if the drinker finds the regular Starbucks a little too srong. Good stuff.
We grind Peet’s Major Dickason beans in our wall-mounted Arcade Crystal #3 grinder and brew it in a Cuisinart coffee maker.
I know there are more ‘purist’ ways to brew it, but we have been doing the same thing for 30 years and we’re quite happy with our ritual.
My wife might be addicted, since she gets a wicked headache until she has her morning cup. I guess I’m not addicted since I don’t get a headache and I usually skip the coffee when she’s not around.
What AI program wrote that piece?....”the average American drinks 2-3 cups of coffee...”...uh ..per what time period?
The highest COFFEE intake is 380mg? I think AI meant to write..highest CAFFEINE intake is 380mg...per day, per cup, what?
A cup of coffee is 12, 16, or 20 oz. Is 20 oz..1.7 times 12 oz..so 20 oz is 1.7 cups of coffee? Author(?) then mentions that “if you have an 8 oz. Cup of coffee”...so now a cup of coffee is 8 oz?
Caffeine overdose is 500mg...per day? Per single intake?
Left out the fact that side effects of caffeine can be heart palpitations, racing heart rate, and even seizures if enough is given.
Overall...one of the most poorly written and ignorant bit of information I have ever seen.
P.S. I agree with you that watching people wait 10-20 min. In their idling car for drive up coffee at Starbucks is the epitome of chemical addiction.
I make “cowboy” coffee if I need it. Much cheaper and less time spent waiting in line.
Three measures of whether we are in a depression...if we are in a depression, no one drinks boutique coffee, no one takes vacation in a foreign destination, and very , very, few will gamble.
One a day to get my morning started and perhaps one more later in the day just for the aroma and taste.
I would like to know how they figured out you had to roast them first
Same views here.
Do you use two scoops per 6oz as Peets recommends?
Yep.
Well, I fix up the coffee pot in the evening and it goes off in the morning, I grab a cup and start reading my mail, then have the second one during b’fast.
Being an “aholic” implies a problem with coffee
Folks who like coffee do not have a problem with coffee.
You buy a cup a day and at the end of the month you realize you’ve spent almost ninety dollars for their, or your coffee.
Almost none of these coffee articles ever points out that probably ALL coffee producers define a “cup” as SIX ounces.
I’ll make it at home, I won’t buy it out unless on vacation and I’m out for breakfast. Even then I’ll typically get a free house coffee at the place I’m staying so I’ve already had my one cup before breakfast.
Man, that first pot of Peets made with a fresh new bag using the double tablespoon recipe is absolutely killer. I do it with the dark roasts.
Coffeeholic is an offensive name and therefore hate speech. With that duly noted coffee in the morning with Baileys (Carolanns is the same but cheaper) is the way to start the day. Two if needed. By 3 PM coffee with bourbon to get it up on its hind legs to keep me going. And of course an after supper coffee with whatever you’re in the mood for.
