5 years ago I’d have called you a crackpot if you were worrying about fluoride in the water. Then we moved to an area served by municipal, fluoridated water. FF to Dec.’24 and I’m diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I did some research, and discovered that fluoride inhibits iodine uptake, which is crucial for a healthy thyroid. We immediately installed a reverse-osmosis filter to have unadulterated drinking water. (We had wells for the first 65 years of my life, and no one ever had a problem.)

Fluoride in water and toothpaste can strip the iodine from your body. Brominated additives can as well. You can restore the iodine levels with Ioderal 12.5 mg available from Amazon.

Fluoride and bromine found in some sports drinks will strip the iodine from your system. Ditch fluoride containing tooth paste, water sources and polluted sports drinks. You can restore your iodine levels with Ioderal 12.5 mg tablets available from Amazon. It will take time to displace the bromine and fluorine and restore normal enzyme function.

Checkout Brownstein's Iodine book.
