I'm on board with many of DOGE's recommendations, however not cutting the VA.

The VA needs fixing, but med services for our Vets are so critical.

Take money from DoED and give it to our Vets!

Paying people to occupy desks at the VA is not necessarily giving money to us vets. Not by a long shot

The VA should become a third-party administrator, you use their "insurance" and you can go to a clinic or any hospital you want.

The VA is functioning like the NHS which is crap.

Why not just give the VA budget directly to the Vets as a voucher. Let them pick their own doctor, hospital, etc. The VA as currently constituted is a boondoggle of political patronage for rank & file nonmedical employees and as many Vets tell me mediocre medical care.

“Take money from DoED and give it to our Vets!P

Speaking as a veteran, how should it be “given” to us?

Checks?
Gold bars?

See, that's the problem. Everyone is on board with government cuts, except for their entitlement program or pet project.

Now you’re talking. DOE is unnecessary, IMO.

If there is waste in the VA, money spent on unnecessary or duplicate positions that take money from actually taking care of, providing services to Vets than they should be eliminated and the money spent as it was intended, actually on Vets.
