If your computer system crashes because of external utility power, you *SUCK* at back up power systems. Full stop.

Mission critical computer systems have had UPSs (uninterruptible power supplies) with batteries, further backed up with automatically starting generators with automatic transfer switches, for more than 50 years at this point. Heck, I’ve had a small UPS for my server or NAS and network stack for 25 years!

Yes, California has utility issues. And blaming this problem on the power utility is BS.
