Wait, Whut? (Stupid Vanity)
Curiousity | 03/03/2025 | By Laz A. Mataz

Posted on 03/03/2025 3:55:04 AM PST by Lazamataz

Ok, so, I have a serious question.

Light is not infinitely fast, and it is the universe's speed limit.

Things that have mass cannot travel at the speed of light.

There are galaxies and objects over 93 billion light years away.

But the age of the universe is 13.8 billion years.

Even if Star A was travelling at the opposite direction of Star B, and even if it was traveling at the impossibly-fast speed of light, it could only be that the two stars are 26.6 billion light years apart.

But we see objects 93 billion light years away.

Please try to reconcile these two facts.

🤔

Supposedly the universe is expanding like a balloon. While we on the surface move relative to each other we also travel away from the furthest what at is effectively faster than light as the balloon gets bigger.

At least, that's what Ted down at Home Depot told me.

So if spacetime is a balloon, do we need to worry about Big Pop?

I've had similar thoughts.

I think light bends as it approaches the perimeter of the universe.

The closer light gets to the edge of the universe, the more the mass from the rest of the universe is behind it. Near the edge of the universe, practically the entire mass of the universe is behind it, bending the light away from the edge and back towards the middle...

My theory of everything:

Eventually, things that appear to be very far away (the "oldest thing ever observed") may actually be bent light from closer things.

As light approaches the edge of the universe it should slow down, being pulled by the total mass of the universe behind it. Eventually that light will curve and turn back towards the middle. When that happens, the light will begin to accelerate again until it passes the center and begins slowing again as it hurtles to the opposite edge of the universe.

Each cycle should drain a little bit of energy, causing each cycle to be slightly slower than the previous one until the light particle finally stops in the center of the mass of the universe.

“To come up with the proper answer, one would have to determine the actual shape of the universe, currently that is quite impossible to determine given our earthly understanding of physics.”

I agree, It could be asymmetric. It could be asymmetric to a huge degree. They are using only the “observable” distances. We could be on the very edge of the actual universe. Like our solar system we could be in just one “Arm” of a spinning universe like a galaxy. And there may be millions of these galaxy type universes.

But these possible concepts are taboo to even consider or factor in because we can’t see it with our own eyes yet. And they won’t be until we can.

Your light yo-yo theory won’t quite work because light is massless, but apparently they are also finding that it is massless for certain qualities but has mass for others, which once again is super weird.

God set up physical laws, yes...but only WE have to obey them. read somewhere that He created wisdom to confound the wise which tells me that my unique sense of wiseacery came directly from Him which in turn leads me to think that if I was Him, I’d be doing all sorts of things that would mess with mankind’s collective heads. like making the math of the quandary posed NOT work out. on purpose. GOD! the ultimate wiseacre.

According to the Universal Clock, it's showing 13.8 billion years since creation.

You can pick up the current time if you tune your shortwave radio to the right frequency. The other option is go and see the clock in-person.

Laz - by moving faster than the other objects around you, you were experiencing time at a slower rate than they were...well, except for the cop that overcame your speed advantage and wrote you a ticket.

When people say, “God did it,” what they really mean is “I don’t know.” It just takes one extra step to get there.

Conversation with atheist:

Q: How did this happen?

A: I don’t know.

Conversation with theist:

Q: How did this happen?

A: God did it.

Q: But HOW??

A: I don’t know.

The problem with light being massless is the lensing effect.

If light is massless, then why does it bend around galaxies? Why are scientists saying that the gravitational effect of galaxies bends the light of objects behind it?

If a galaxy can bend light, then why can't the entire mass of the universe bend light, too?

”The known universe extends about 10 billion light years in all directions ….”

It extends in all directions from where? Seems to imply that “where” is earth (our tiny planet) since earth is where the measurement is being done. Does this mean that earth is the center of the universe? What are the odds of that being the case if the universe is a random happening of an uncontroled space? Instead it would mean that there is a creator, a creator whose prime objective is the earth. IMAGINE THAT!
