It serves the state right. They were trying to shake “Kentucky Fried Chicken” down for trademark fees on “Kentucky”! That was part of the impetus leading to the corporate name change. The state backed off, but too late. Damage was done.

I would think if Kentucky HAD a trademark, and didn’t enforce it for 94 years, it wouldn’t go well in court.
But who knows. Sounds like the State lost out.
