Too bad they all fail to feed 3 times per mag unless you wanna spend $4000 on one.
I wanna like it. Ruger SR1911, rock island, Springfield armory, Kimber, Taurus, all we’re jam-o-matics inside of 250 rounds, some were that way out of the box.
Believe I’ll stick with my P10-C. 9mm’s cheaper and modern defense loads perform WAY better than 230 grain .45 ball. I’d take a 147 grain +p that opens up to .73” (ish) 6” deep in flesh at 1200 feet per second over a not quite half inch semi circle at 850 fps and doesn’t really expand.
.45 ACP is obsolete.
Why we make weapons that wound people.
Sounds like hollow point ammunition or something underpowered.
Never had it jam with full metal jacket at 230 grains.
Pretty sure a 200 round break-in is recommended with all 1911s. A slight polish on the feed-ramp might be in order, and I’d stay away from anything flat-nosed, for self defense.

1911s, all .45ACP, one each Colt, Rock Island, Ruger, Tisas. All reliable. Typical range day is 200 rounds through one with no malfunctions.
230 grain FMJ and JHP.
Wilson Combat 47 series magazines, seven rounds.
You’re doing it wrong.
I have 3 1911 pistols. Two from Kimber and one original Colt manufactured in 1968. I rarely have a malfunction and when it does happen it’s because of cheap crappy ammo.
Handloads, hollow points, FMJ, they all work just fine.
A 200 grain Gold Dot bullet doing 900 fps opens up to almost an inch in diameter in ballistic gel.
I like modern 9mm ammo and have 2 pistols chambered for it. But when Mrs L and I leave the house it’s .45 ACP on our hips.
