I have a first generation Delta Elite. It’s my choice of sidearm when backpacking where the threat from four legged critters is more likely than two legged critters and open carry is a non-issue. Yeah there are higher capacity 10mms out there, but I’m partial to the Colt ergonomics.

I have 10mm in S&W and Ruger revolvers as well as 1911 Ruger and a Springfield build. The Springfield holds 15 rds. My usual carry for hiking is an S&W 629 with 4 inch barrel. PMC 240 gr JHP is adequate for black bears, mountain lions and wolves. That is the normal 4-legged hazards nearby.
