I’d like to lock the clock on standard time. I hate daylight savings time. I detest having to wake up in the morning in pitch-darkness.

Has it occurred to you to change your schedule instead of expecting the rest of the country to change their clocks to suit you? Asking for a friend.

I detest having to wake up in the morning in pitch-darkness.

Sunrise comes at 8 AM in SE Idaho on Standard Time on January 1st. I get up for work at 7 AM. It's dark. Today, Feb 10th, sunrise was at 7:34 AM. Still dark. It will be March 4th when sunrise reaches 6:59 AM. On March 9th, the switch to DST occurs. Sunrise will be 7:51 AM. In the dark again. April 7th will bring sunrise at 7:00 AM Daylight Time. September 7th begins getting up before sunrise again.

Totally agree. Morning is dark enough without artificially goosing it.

Let’s compromise. Spring forward just a half-hour this year and leave it.

I don’t know where you live, but here at 7:00 AM it’s still dark.
