My sister taught school in Baltimore for 15 years and the African immigrants were hard working, spoke good English, polite to a fault and wanted to learn and succeed. You can guess where the American black people in Baltimore scored on those scales.
I remember reading a story in the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation back in the late 1980s about a black lady from some African country who was here as a student who talked about not liking Blacks from the US. I never expected them to print such a story.
Had a professor in college from Nigeria. Spoke the Queen’s English, wore a suit and tie to class every day. Affable guy but all business in class.
I was seated a row away from a couple of Basketball Americans who I overheard assuming that the “brother” was going to cut them breaks and let them slide.
They were sorely disappointed and called this prof the same name that a Klansman would have.
