Iron Dome is easy to pull of to protect a county the size of New Jersey. What would be the cost to cover the US?

Iron dome is not useful for ICBMs. And since we are not likely to be attacked except by ICBMs, it won’t be much use to us.

We have three systems for different ferment threats. PAC three is for the shortest range attacks like from ship to shore. THAAD is the next range, like for a small state. And the long range system is currently only deployed in Alaska— I believe. So a complete system will look like a mix of these. And yes it is expensive. It is possible that some help may come from Israel too. It’s hard to know what will come from this plan.

Which leads to the question what is the cost of not having it when you really need it?

I don’t know. What would 2 or 3 nuclear detonations cost?
