I was reading over the Executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and saw this section:
Sec. 5. Additional Action. The Secretary of Interior may solicit public and intergovernmental input regarding additional patriots to honor, particularly in light of America’s semiquincentennial celebration, and shall recommend action to me, through the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy.
So my question is...what else can we recommend to be renamed? I think we've become so used to having the left rename things with little to no blowback that we think it's not important. But it is. Remember they renamed all the squaw things. WE don't have to go back to that but why not rename them with patriot names instead?
It happens that I occasionally take Rt 81 between Upstate NY and the Philly area to visit family, passing through Scranton, and I hadn't run into the "Biden" naming convention, so I was curious, looked it up, and shared the Wiki info. So we're both enlightened. :-)
-but NOT on the “Gulf of America”..”
Genius.
Now THAT’S 4D Chess!
Change it back to Fort Bragg. And wasn’t there a military base in Texas that The Big Guy renamed? Probably to Fort Transgender.
Many of the cities/towns/counties in New England are named after towns in Great Britain. The rest are Indian names.
I travel the same. While driving through Scranton on 81 I see the Biden expressway signs that popped up there. It disgusts me each time I see them. My Scranton friends aren’t thrilled with it either.
Very interesting, because he died in May of 1959.
Ooooohh!!
I like it
There were two Dulles brothers: John Foster Dulles, who was Eisenhower’s Secretary of State, and Allen Dulles, who was the chief of the CIA. Allen Dulles was fired by President Kennedy. Allen Dulles was also a member of the Warren Commission. We will see if the release of the remaining classified Kennedy assassination documents will result in the rebuttal of the commission’s conclusion that Oswald was the sole assassin.
Good to know.
I’m surprised the NY Jets were allowed to keep their name after 9/11/2001.
Impressive! Hiking a 14teener is an accomplishment.
I hiked Pikes Peak with a bunch of athletes from the nearby Olympic Training Center. They left me at the 10,000 ft. mark. I chugged and chugged up the final 4,000 feet. They met me on their way down after having lunch up top.
The climb exhausted me. I hitchhiked back to Manitou Springs.
It’s ridiculous. The Indian word “squaw” (I don’t know which language) was not and is not a pejorative term.
:) You know they are. lol
Give us back FORT HOOD!
Were there nipples at the top?
Take yer pick...
Silly you!
I drove up there!
Perky. I mean ‘peaky’. The peaks.
Can’t see them peaks from the Gulf of America. God bless the mountaineers and pioneers that tamed the West.
