FYI, you might ought to look up how the Noah flood story is backed up by trying to determine how many generations back "chromosomal Adam" (or most recent common male ancestor) lived and how far back "mitochondrial Eve" lived. I've read of studies where the results show that our "Eve" lived many generations further back than our "Adam" did.

If that's correct, it adds credence to the Noah flood story. The inhabitants on the Ark were Noah, his wife, his sons, and their wives. With no text in Genesis indicating biological relation among the women, it's probable that Noah's daughter-in-laws weren't related. Thus it's possible that everyone's common female ancestor has to go all the way back to Eve. But everyone's common male ancestor has to go back only as far as Adam.
