Hmm hmm. Is it warm where you are so bugs are active? Maybe some kind of bug bite that isn’t poisonous. Mosquitos not only suck blood but they inject something itchy into the skin, can’t remember why.

Female mosquitoes are the ones that sting. Mosquitoes are vegan for the most part. Males never sting. However, females seek blood so they can get the protein necessary for her to produce eggs. The sting injects a numbing agent into the skin so you don’t notice the puncture. That numbing agent is what makes you itch later.
