The Great Awakening ('Freedom of Thought’), was designed and created not only as a backchannel to the public (away from the longstanding ‘mind’ control of the corrupt & heavily biased media) to endure future events through transparency and regeneration of individual thought (breaking the chains of ‘group-think’), but, more importantly, aid in the construction of a vehicle (a ‘ship’) that provides the scattered (‘free thinkers’) with a ‘starter’ new social-networking platform which allows for freedom of thought, expression, and patriotism or national pride (the feeling of love, devotion and sense of attachment to a homeland and alliance with other citizens who share the same sentiment).
When ‘non-dogmatic’ information becomes FREE & TRANSPARENT it becomes a threat to those who attempt to control the narrative and/or the stable.
When you are awake, you stand on the outside of the stable (‘group-think’ collective), and have ‘free thought’.
"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.
The choice is yours, and yours alone.
Trust and put faith in yourself.
You are not alone and you are not in the minority.
Difficult truths will soon see the light of day.

That’s high winds lowing the lines against the trees (or the trees into the lines). With 70+ mph winds, that will happen, and indeed could spark more fires.
I hate the concept of shutting down parts of the power system, but in this case, it is prudent. This is most likely distribution level stuff, as they generally clear a wide swath around major transmission lines (unless government steps in and prohibits it).
The distribution line circuit breakers at the nearby substation should trip and lock open, but unfortunately, that requires that the line short circuits to ground through the trees for more than a split second.
They didn’t prepare to stop the fire - they prepared to keep it going. Enemies within.

2 things local power companies are given waivers for in order to keep installation costs low:
1. Line-slap protection
2. Rain guards and exposure protection
What are those beams of light? One appeared to travel in a line.
Line slap protection? Well, spacer cable could keep the conductors from slapping one another. Insulation could eliminate short circuits. Both are costly, and that is a never-ending issue with customers. They seem Ok with paying through the nose for useless intermittent resources like Wind and solar, but not for much of anything else.
The line circuit breakers and fuses are still the primary protection for all these conditions, though the circuit breakers are set up to reclose (turn back on) quickly to restore customer load, because 95% of short circuit faults are intermittent, mostly lightning actually.
This is a unique situation. Extremely dry conditions, very high wind, but no rain, nor storm. Not what the systems were designed for. From the power company perspective, this isn’t the typical situation. If I were in that dispatch control center for the respective utility, I’d be dumping feeder circuits fast and furious, making sure to keep power to critical loads like water pumping stations, police and fire, hospitals - the usual stuff.
