The AMA is often referenced in reports as the voice of physicians. Times have changed. Today, barely 12% of physicians are AMA members.

Hi NN. Oh yes, I know they represent only a sliver of the physicians in the US.

Like gays, they represent a prominent spokes-group that appears MUCH bigger than it actually is.

However, to the uninformed, putting this scandalous paper in one of their branded journals makes it appear that this is the accepted stance of the American medical establishment.
