Simple solution. Gather statistics, and remove bus stops / close stations where more than 25% of the riders board without paying. Then over several years, move that number down to 5%. Soon they will only be carrying paying riders, they can remove older equipment from service, and lay off the excess employees, reducing costs significantly.

Creating subway and bus (mass transit) deserts. The lib media will scream about that, too.

First they close all the grocery and drug stores in the neighborhood (because of thievery). Now the citizens can’t even catch a ride to a neighborhood where stores are still open!

Thank you for being the only person to even mention the idea of closing down these money-pits.

If the founders of this had said that trains and buses were going to offer FREE transportation to everyone, paid for by the tax-payer, this garbage would have never even been started.
