My wife and I had lunch about 8 years ago at Fogo de Chao, across the street from the hotel. It was still Trump International back then and we walked around the main area for awhile. Incredible gorgeous and just a beautiful site.
One of the best dinners in my life was at Trump’s DC hotel back in 2018. Everything was exceptional.
My son wanted to go to DC for his senior graduation trip. We spent 5 days there and saw everything except the White House. There was a mix up in the email where we had to submit info to be vetted, and by the time we got it straightened out the window had passed.
It an iconic building, a landmark, and an echo of a more gracious era when government buildings were often stately. That was before the modernists wrecked architecture for a long period, but that’s a story for another day.
The location, however, is difficult for modern uses. I am ecumenical about modern adaptations. I just don’t know what would work. Was it making money as a Trump hotel?
You canโt go wrong with Fogo de Chao.
Iโve had their weekend brunch and it was a real treat.
