Gotta pick a small bone with giving the Socialists credit for developing the AK-47 family of firearms. Mikhail Kalashnikov, the guy who designed/developed the system was a private guy, working on his own, was not even a chicom gummint employee, when he put the design together. Early on they even resisted looking at it. Then, even tho they adopted the system in 1947 it took another decade or so to get it into meaningful production. Our guys never saw them in the Korean war. The best thing the Norks had was Simonovs.
But they do get a little credit for putting them in production after figgering out how to make them even cheaper. Closest thing to a profit center the whole chicom world has ever come up with, having made something over 70 million pieces.
