I think not, Macaroon. Have many 6th century immigrants have you let swarm into your country in the last 5 years? How many churches have been burnt in France compared to the number of mosques? Why do you think Notre Dame will not be the target of another “welcome guest”?

I am surprised at the amount of light and the light color of the stone. My immediate supposition is that this is the result of cleaning away a thousand years of grit, grime and smoke residue. Given the length of time it took to build, Notre Dame may look better — cleaner and more light filled — than at any time in its history. I suppose Paris’ air pollution will darken it again over time.
The original lighting would have been entirely lamps and candles. Were any electric lighting systems ever installed? How about now?

exactly ... plus the renovation repaired, cleaned and spit-polished hundreds of years of serious maintenance neglect ... basically, it’s like the cathedral is better than brand new ... AND modern fire alarm, comm and security systems were installed ... the result is truly a modern miracle!

The exact cause of the blaze was never established, but investigators believed it to be accidental, started by either a cigarette or a short circuit in the electrical system. Uh-huh. It seems an unwillingness to label it anything other than 'accidental'.
All parties - including government, media and 'fact checkers' - tripped over themselves to debunk any claims that suggested anything but 'accidental.'
I remain dubious of the 'accidental' label...
