That’s where we got it. They are among our ancestors, and we inherited their natural intelligence. :^)
The popular notion that Neanderthals were less intelligent than the “out of Africa” humans might bear reconsideration, given that Eurasian humans who have Neanderthal genes and have higher IQ than the pure African humans.
