There's a bigger difference as well.
In 2016, Trump promised to "Lock her up." in 2017, Trump walked back this promise and tried to be gracious and magnanimous, to bring the Democrats into the fold in an effort to heal hard feelings.
In return for Trump's grace and magnanimity, once in power the Democrats embarked on a merciless crusade to bankrupt, imprison, and destroy Trump.
Now Trump will return to the White House after a landslide popular vote victory and with a GOP Congress who will have his back.
He has also learned many lessons about just how Democrats reward grace and magnanimity.
And he has learned lessons about just who to put on his team --and who not to.
I expect Trump to push the GOP very hard to push his plans into law.
They had better not delay with the tax breaks for tips and OT, among other things.
I want them to start deporting the illegals in his first days, too.
