The way they use “Conservatives” as if that was a defined group per-War Germany is purely designed to conflate modern US conservatism with the rise of the Nazi party. The truth is that there were enough people from all groups in pre-War Germany that supported Hitler and it was really their centrist “uniparty” parties that finally put Hitler fully over the top when they formed alliances with the Nazis, in not small part out of fear.
The Nazis were just as left wing as the Communists. Their grand postwar plan would be nationalizing major German industries.
