An ambitious effort to understand the Earth’s climate over the past 485 million years has revealed a history of wild shifts and far hotter temperatures than scientists previously realized — offering a reminder of how much change the planet has already endured and a warning about the unprecedented rate of warming caused by humans.
The timeline, published Thursday in the journal Science, is the most rigorous reconstruction of Earth’s past temperatures ever produced, the authors say. Created by combining more than 150,000 pieces of fossil evidence with state-of-the-art climate models, it shows the intimate link between carbon dioxide and global temperatures and reveals that the world was in a much warmer state for most of the history of complex animal life.

This proves it!
Time travel has been accomplished.

“If we don’t stop climate change now, dinosaurs could return to the Earth! Drive electric today and help end the T-Rex menace!!”
I can read a graph.
WHAT “human-caused global warming”?
Nothing in this than what’s already known.
The earth goes through wild swings from hot to ice ages. They admit that and yet they continue with the gorebull warming bs.
Fact is, we are in a medium. Which are the shortest of periods in earth’s wild climate swings.
Do not believe the “intimate link” bit...get a hold of a CO2 vs temp record for the past two million years or so. As was done with the “hockey stick” the gubmit sponsored “researchers” love to cherry-pick what they choose to show. After all, they only have to convince journalists, for whom science never has and never will be a friend.
"the most rigorous [editorial, fabrication, narrative, production] of Earth’s past temperatures ever produced"
The Congress shall set the temperature of planet earth.
Yeah, the CO2 lags.
“...a reminder of how much change the planet has already endured and a warning about the unprecedented rate of warming caused by humans.”
How can any reasonable person even write such a sentence? Unless of course they are just straight out lying. And the multitudes will somehow agree with the “warning”.
Climate change? Yes. That’s what it does.
The rise in CO2 isn't the cause of the warming, it's the effect. But the difference is a matter of a few centuries, a fact easy enough to hide when your diagram purports to document change over half a billion years.
But if it warms from where we are now we're all going to die.
Yep that is correct, co2 lags. the whole article is a con. Just like everything that comes out of the mouth of a climateer.
And for the most part without interference from humans. How crazy is that?
A couple or more million years and it won’t make a
damned bit of difference to us living today. We’ll
be gone, rotted into the ground and can’t even rouse
an odor if any part of the body still existed.
The climate is changing, it always has been changing, and it always will be changing—regardless of anything we do! To the minimal extent that we affect it, it is negligible and has actually been a net plus.
Created by combining more than 150,000 pieces of fossil evidence with state-of-the-art climate models, it shows the intimate link between carbon dioxide and global temperatures and reveals that the world was in a much warmer state for most of the history of complex animal life. At its hottest, the study suggests, the Earth’s average temperature reached 96.8 degrees Fahrenheit (36 degrees Celsius) — far higher than the historic 58.96 F (14.98 C) the planet hit last year. ...
At the timeline’s start, some 485 million years ago, Earth was in what is known as a hothouse climate, with no polar ice caps and average temperatures above 86 F (30 C). The oceans teemed with mollusks and arthropods, and the very first plants were just beginning to get a toehold on the land. .. rapid cooling is thought to have triggered the first of Earth’s “big five” mass extinction.. Michael Mann, a climate scientist at the University of Pennsylvania who is known for his analyses of past global temperatures, said he was also surprised by the suggestion that the planet got so warm. ... Even under the worst-case scenarios, human-caused warming will not push the Earth beyond the bounds of habitability. I have been saying for years that man made climate change is lie and could prove it in just a few minutes using existing research.
First notice at some point they dropped “man made” climate change to just plain climate change. Few would argue that the earth’s climate has been changing since day one of it’s creation (and a good thing too). That man has any real long term effect on climate is the lie.
So why the lie? They are using this lie to control people.
” the unprecedented rate of warming caused by humans. “
Just cannot let go of the hoax can they?
Truly a religion to liberals.
