Sympathy? I state that nowhere. Your bias is showing, Lieutenant Calley. You're justifying using explosives without knowing if someone innocent would be holding the device or if someone innocent would be nearby when it detonated.
There are rules of engagement for a reason and violating them for expediency is unacceptable.
OK Greta
Oh, please.
This was literally the most targeted attack in the history of attacks. Small explosion on a personal device, worn by terrorists.
Go back to Iran.
I think Israel took the gloves off Oct 7 last year. Your Lt Calley comment is a not a good analogy. Calley killed known civilians because they likely harbored VC, even though they likely harbored them under duress in many cases. That was wrong. This brilliant scheme booby trapped a command and control system with enemy combatants as intended users. A better analogy would be bombing German civilians in Dresden to destroy German industry, but that was even more indiscriminate than what the Mossad appears to have pulled off here.
They use voice recognition. Learn reality.
Ha ha. It certainly doesn’t bother the terrorists if there are innocents wounded or killed; in fact, they count on it. War is hell, I’m told. There is always collateral damage, but from the videos I’ve seen, it’s only the terrorists with pagers in their pockets who are getting hurt. Save your pity for the true victims, the Israelis.
From the photos and video I’ve seen, the material was right up against the terrorists’ bodies, and the further away anyone was, the less there would be damage. One guy on a video had his ears briefly hurt from the loudness of the sound, but otherwise just looked around to see what was going on.
Anyone with a lithium battery is a walking (or driving) fire hazard, anyway. Other battery types don’t explode nearly as easily, but we’ve migrated to lithium because it stores much more energy.
I have absolutely no problems with this terrorist situation. The terrorists were the threat to those standing nearby, which, if you think about it, is always the case.
rules of engagement are all gone in terrorist wars.
It is unacceptable to have rules of engagement for a civilization that follows no rules. The rule in such a civilization is to kill all adults and all males (old and young) and leave all girls under age 8. When they grow up, provide husbands for them from your culture.
I would be upset but then I remember the Israelis who were burnt alive hugging each other, the young women raped and executed. Those actions, the filming of them on cell phones, the celebration of the agony makes it hard for me to criticize eliminating Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houtis and other aligned groups by any means necessary. The treatment of the hostages the cynical use of their own citizens as cover deepens the need to eliminate these people by any means necessary unless they surrender and commit to peace.
Left to themselves Israel gave jobs to Gaza people medical care, assistance with water, electricity and many other forms of support. Now they have been educated about dealing with murderous hatred. Never again.
