It all comes down to cost. Is he paying around the same, or less, than natural gas or other sources or is he paying more but doing it because of convictions?
I’m glad he’s doing it because proof of concepts allow for optimization.
I’m sure he didn’t do it to increase his costs. The whole idea is for cheap energy. Even if his initial layout was considerable, long term should pay off.
Proof of concept is a foreign concept to our “new, green, climate saving” folks. Just build wind turbines with an estimated life of 20 years and discover that the blades and gearboxes last seven years! So that drives up the cost and reduces the payback and sellable energy. But hey we’re saving the planet!
