However, nothing can take away the fact that he rallied the British people when they were down to throwing empty Guinness bottles at the Nazis. Churchill ignored the peace overtures because Hitler had liked through his teeth dozens of times already. There was nothing left to do but fight, because eventually, the Germans were coming across the channel.

Churchill was blinded by his hatred of Germans. Much of the spiral of WWII can be laid at his feet. Germany was going to war up Europe and Russia wanted to sweep in during the chaos to spread communism while FDR was more than willing to see old empires dissolve away.
